Trauma related events can result in serious stress and detrimental consequences for survivors who are women and their families.

And these trauma related events include harassment, sexual abuse, losing a dear one, terrorism, accidents, psychological stress, illness and many more such tragic events. Although, most of the women will be able to absorb the tragic feeling over time, but many survivors experience long-lasting problems. Researchers have found that approximately 8 percent of survivors will develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Women are at a greater risk for negative consequences following traumatic events, and most of the women hesitate to take medical help.

And post these traumatic events, you are all left alone with yourself.

Being depressed can make you feel helpless. But, hey there’s a lot of things you can do on your own to fight back!
So, here are some tips to get back the old you!

Calm yourself down to relieve Trauma



First of all, take a deep breath and just try to let go of that unfortunate incident. Depression can strip away the structure of your life. It can make your life hell if you let that affect you so much. But you can stop that from happening by not overthinking about the same thing time and again. So just try to calm yourself down and focus on better things in life.

Be Ambitious



Now try to focus on your career and keep yourself busy in work. This will help you get less time to overthink the past. Work on yourself and build a better version of yourself by excelling in your career. Trust me, you won’t ever regret this!

Exercise



It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals in your body called endorphins. It may also have long term benefits for people dealing with depression. Regular exercise also boosts your immunity and gives a good self -image. Learn how to love yourself. Self-love is a priority not a privilege.

Eating healthy



Most of the women tend to neglect healthy food while they are suffering from depression. Well, you should control your diet and have a nutritious meal every time. Studies have shown that Chocolate reduces stress and depression by ejecting happy hormones in our body. So, you can now feel good by treating yourself with a chocolate!

Get Enough Sleep


Depression can make it hard to get enough shut-eye, and too little sleep can make depression worse. So, you should sleep at-least for 8 hours a day.

Start reading books to overcome Trauma


A good book can motivate you to different levels in order to kick out depression as well as teach you the importance of self-love. You have got this one life, so live your life and love your life.

Indulge yourself in Yoga and Meditation


After a traumatic event, you ought to be in search of peace and what’s more relaxing and peaceful than doing yoga? Start doing meditation and yoga and see the result yourself. It will definitely bring a positive change in your body as well as your soul.

Go on a much needed vacation


Depression is truly a very disgusting phase in your life but remember that it’s not the end of your life. If it’s not gonna matter in 10 years then don’t waste 10 minutes thinking about it. There is a beautiful world out there! Take a break and go on a vacation with the people who truly care about you and love you. Remember that you’re not alone.

Try something new and exciting


When you’re depressed, you are in a rut. Push yourself to do something different. Learn dancing or swimming or something you have never done. Don’t worry about your age, you are never too old to learn something new! Or learn a foreign language! Or meet your old friends, because they are the ones who’ll make you realise how fast time flew by!

Try to have fun in order to forget the Trauma


If you’re depressed, make time for things you enjoy. Plan things you used to enjoy, even if they feel like a chore. And in no time, fun things really will feel fun again!
